Shoreham Gallery Event @ Shoreham Gallery
Jan 11 all-day

Sue Jones began working with textiles after retirement and is mainly self-taught. She has been a member of Shoreham Art Gallery since 2014 where her individual bags have proved extremely popular. In November this year Sue joined a small group on a “Colouricious” textile holiday to Jaipur, India where she was ‘blown away’ with the colour, patterns and the people. All this has been inspiring her new work and the latest exhibition.

Following the trip, Sue has put together an exhibition of some of the things she saw such as the making of wood printing blocks.
You will be able to see pictures and details of block printing including her favourite, Dabu, which is printing with mud and sand.

On sale will be the bags Sue has made from material she printed herself, or with fabrics bought in India and other fabrics inspired by her trip.
