Henfield Wild Violets WI aims to give local women the opportunity to meet and make new friends, to help broaden horizons by introducing new skills and challenges through various activities and speakers. We have outings to places of interest and to the theatre. The aim is to make it fun, enjoyable and to do our best to be inclusive and give everyone a chance to contribute. Following our monthly meetings we serve an optional light lunch to enable members to chat and socialise. Our meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of every month, starting at 9:45am.

We usually welcome a speaker at our meetings, and we aim to cover a wide range of interesting topics in our Programme. We end our meetings with some social time when we enjoy a cup of tea and cake! In addition, we have groups for members to join, such as walking, craft and Scrabble, and we are always open to further suggestions which might prove to be popular. We have an elected Committee to lead the group locally, and hold an Annual meeting when there are opportunities for new members to join the Committee. We look forward to welcoming visitors and new members to our meetings.

If you have an interest in local and regional history and want to discuss your passion with like minded individuals, the Shipley History Society welcome new members. Annual membership fee is £10 per person, which covers all talks and walks, including refreshments. The society welcomes visitors at a fee of £3 per talk, £1 per walk.

The Arts Society, Steyning, is pleased to present this month’s lecture – ‘Creating an Imaginary World; Theatre Design From Temple to Playhouse, into the Picture Frame and Out Again’ by Bertie Pearce.
Theatre design is one of the world’s most beautiful, varied and lively art forms. This lecture looks at the relationship between actor and audience and how this transformed the space and architecture of theatre throughout the ages.

Charlie Forman will highlight the history of the relationship between the horse and London, showing us some of the relics and remains still visible today, from drinking troughs to a horse hospital. The Small Dole Tuesday Club welcomes the Waste Prevention team from Horsham District Council for their talk ‘Think Before You Throw’.
The Small Dole Tuesday Club are a mixed social group that enjoys talks on various subjects and a chat over a cuppa. Visitors are always welcome, no booking required. Our meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Small Dole Village Hall.
