Henfield Electric Community Car Club

Electric Community Car Club, Henfield

This initiative is aimed to enable residents to access affordable electric hire cars, reduce the need for second cars and help the environment. The aim of the project is also to provide shared transport for those with disabilities in rural communities. This will enable independent access to services and social activities, as well as improve general wellbeing.

The Henfield Community Car Club is funded by Motability, the national disability charity. All the cars are adapted for those with limited mobility and an electric wheelchair accessible vehicle is available if required. The vehicles are also available for general community hire. Charge points are available at convenient points in the village.

Following your application, you will have to undertake a driving assessment/familiarisation of the vehicles, and you're good to go! Hiring vehicles for self-drive purposes can be done over the phone or via email, where you will be informed of vehicle location and keys collection point.

If you require a volunteer driver the process is the same, but you may have to allow time for a volunteer driver to be sourced. Our DBS checked volunteers are local Henfield residents and fully committed to helping the local community.
