Horton Golf Club Charity Fundraising

20th November 2022

Each year, Horton Golf Club works hard to support the community and local charities. This year our Charity Day in July raised over £1,650 for the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance Service. This charity was the choice of Club Captain, Kevin Townsend, who is pictured presenting the cheque.

They also raised enough to donate £414 to the Henfield Haven, the cheque was presented by Brian Cullen to Chairman of Henfield Haven CIO Digby Stephenson. Digby expressed thanks to all the Club members for the kind donation and explained how support from local organisations ensures the success of the Haven in its aim to support local people living with dementia and their carers.

The club also supports Macmillan Cancer Research each year by holding a golf and coffee morning. This year it raised £500.

There has also been support for HART, with £118 raised by asking members to contribute £1 every time their ball lands in one of our ponds! If you would like to know more about Horton Golf Club or are considering taking up the sport, please contact Mark Wasserberg at secretary.hgc@outlook.com .
