New minibus for the Henfield Haven

5th July 2021

We are delighted to announce that the Henfield Haven has resumed ‘business as usual’, whilst still respecting the latest Government guidelines.

High needs care will restart on Monday 5th July and we will be offering day-care every Monday and Wednesday. Many of the familiar faces from pre-lockdown days are back with us, both as customers and carers. The Thursday Club restarts on 8th July with a range of stimulating activities, quizzes, bingo as well as delicious lunches. The next Community Lunch will be held on Sunday 8th August (booking is essential). Weather permitting, we are hoping that people will be able to enjoy their lunch in our beautiful garden. If you haven’t visited recently, our grounds are looking amazingly colourful and well-kept thanks to the continuing efforts of the volunteer Garden Gang.

We's like to thank Coles for all their hard work sourcing, servicing and MOT’ing the minibus and for generously agreeing to sponsor looking after the vehicle going forward with free mechanic hours. Thanks also to all our other supporters in the local community who helped us purchase the minibus. We hope to make it available for community use when it’s not needed at the Haven which is likely to be evenings and weekends.

Since relaunching in 2015 The Henfield Haven has become crucial to the wellbeing of our local community. However, we are totally reliant on the generous donations we receive from local individuals and businesses, as well as the sterling support we receive from local volunteers. We currently urgently need more volunteers to work in the kitchen, the Haven Café and to help out with other activities. So if you have a few hours to spare we would love to hear from you. We also need a Cook in the main kitchen to cover for sickness and holidays.
