Tension is mounting in Henfield High Street as businesses eagerly await the results of the Christmas Window Dressing competition. Judging took place on Friday and the winners will be announced just before the Christmas Shopping Evening at 5pm on Friday 11th December.
Competition is fierce with fantastically creative windows based upon the theme “Nursery Rhymes and Christmas Story Books”. Judges Lynda Spain (Horsham District Council) Julie Jewell (St Peter’s Primary School) and Elaine Goodyear (Henfield Parish Council) had a tough job deciding between some very different and very creative displays.
The Winners Trophy this year is the ‘Mike Beardall Memorial Award’ in memory of Mike Beardall, local journalist, chairman of Henfield Enterprise and organiser of the Henfield Christmas Shopping evening for many years. The plate will be engraved with the winner’s name and will be presented each year to the best overall winner.
The three categories vying for the winner’s trophy are:
- Best use of Colour
- Best use of Lighting
- Overall Winner
Shops will be open to welcome you on Friday 11th December for the Henfield Christmas Evening when the high street will host street entertainment, stalls, sideshows and street food. Don’t miss this fantastic festive village event, from 5.30-8pm.
