Wandering Gallery at Rushfields

Wednesday 8th May 2024 to Sunday 12th May 2024

Celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, Rushfields Plant Centre is thrilled to be taking part in Artist Open Houses (AOH) by hosting artist in residence Nikki Loy of The Wandering Gallery (usually based in Small Dole), and her mobile studio from the Weds 8th - Sunday 12th of May.

Artist’s Open Houses returns this May, with over 150 venues and even more artists across Brighton & Hove opening their doors and welcoming visitors to explore a variety of arts and crafts. The festival is free to attend and will take place over four weekends: May 4, 5 & 6, 11 & 12, 18 & 19 and 25, 26 & 27.

Nikki Loy is a multi-media maker, whose creativity spans from illustration, oil painting and crafts, to carpentry and campervan building - which includes her beautiful mobile studio in an ex-library bus! She is inspired by West Sussex coastal life, by beauty and a love of plants and growing things. She enjoys telling stories with her art, hosts workshops locally and coaches art journaling for personal growth and wellbeing - So come and experience this unique artist at Rushfields and enjoy their farm shop, plant centre and cafe as well!

“It is fantastic to share in the Artist’s Open Houses May Festival, as we celebrate our 40th year at Rushfields. We’re hosting several celebratory events this summer to mark the occasion and show our gratitude to the local community who have supported us over the decades. We are delighted to welcome Nikki Loy, the AOH community and all our familiar faces, and we can’t wait to host these events this spring” ~ Colin Langridge, Rushfields Founder
