Over the spring weekend of Friday 24th – Monday 27th May Henfield Birdwatch is running its ‘Henfield Big Bird Bash!’ We don’t go around bashing birds but it’s a way of engaging with people to get out over that weekend and record what and how many species of birds via a series of guided walks and reporting what they see in their gardens and around the Parish.
Saturday 25th May with early bird Paul Cole – Downslink to Betley, riverside to New Inn and back via Hollands Lane. Leave Downslink Car Park by The Old Railway pub 6.30a.m. Approx 4½ hours.
We have been running the Big Bird Bash since 2020 and we raise money for The Haven and over the four years £1860.00 has been raised through sponsorship for one of the teams, the number of species recorded or general donations. You can take part in a number of ways, simply report the number of species you see in your garden over the weekend, random sightings as you walk around the parish or even take your own walk. You can report your sightings at sightings@henfieldbirdwatch.co.uk
