Meets for talks on subjects related to history. Membership £18 per couple or £10 for a single person. Non members and visitors admission £3.00. Everyone most welcome.

9th April 2019 AGM followed by 30 Plus Years of Collecting Postcards. Presented by Alan Barwick.

14th May 2019 The Restoration of Oldland Mill Keymer. Presented by Professor Fred Maillardet, Chairman of Oldland Mill Trust.

11th June 2019 Droughts, Deluges and Dust Devils – 300 Years of South East Weather. Presented by Ian Currie.

9th July 2019 Quirky Lewes. Presented by Kevin Gordon.

August No Meeting

10th September 2019 A Sporting History of Sussex from the Amazing to the Bizarre. Presented by Matthew Homewood

8th October 2019 Lives, Interrupted: ten young officers in the Great War. Presented by Dr. Frances Hurd. After acquiring a photograph taken in 1915 at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Frances traced the story of their lives.

12th November 2019 Fire at Uppark House. Presented by Ken Lloy.

10th December 2019 Christmas Meeting – Members only. Camisoles, Rissoles and Dover Soles: Dan Quinn and Ian Kearey present the songs, monologues and old jokes of Billy Bennett. A comedian of the Music Halls between the Wars.

14th January 2020 Malice Aforethought – a Famous English Trial. Presented by Peter Blood. Peter is a retired barrister who now writes and lectures about famous trials from British history.

11th February 2020 Sussex Scrapbook No 2 – Miscellany of Sussex History, Anecdotes and Folklore. Presented by Chris Horlock.

10th March 2020 An Archaeological Childhood. Presented by Dr Janet Pennington. Janet’s memories and influences growing up with her archaeologist parents in Sussex, Eric and Hilda Holden.

14th April 2020 AGM followed by a talk TBA
