In Henfield we have 2 Rainbow units, 2 Brownie units, 2 Guide units and a Ranger unit.
Rainbows is for girls aged 5-7, Brownies are 7-10, Guides, 10-14 and Rangers 14-18.
The girls get to enjoy all sorts of different activities from crafts and cooking to abseiling and camping. The Guides and Rangers can go to music festivals just for them, while Rainbows and Brownies enjoy many fun days out having Adventures.
In July 2018, a new programme for all sections has launched, with new interest badges and challenges to be completed throughout your time in Guiding. Brownies can do an aviation badge, Rainbows have badges for the first time and include animal lover and storyteller. The Guides could do a badge on photography, while the Rangers might like to try the Digital design badge.
We currently have some spaces at all levels, so if your daughter would like to join us, just register her via https://www.girlguiding.org.uk and the relevant unit will be in touch.
All of this would not be possible without the volunteers who run the units, and we really do need more people to come and join us, to help provide these wonderful opportunities to the girls and young women of Henfield. Even if you can’t commit to helping every week (for just 2 hours), there are other areas where we need help. Maybe you could do some maintenance on our Guide Hut, or run our shop (just placing orders when the unit needs something), or you could do some PR for us, if you have some time to offer, please get in touch via https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/
