Henfield Cricket Club is looking for more young cricketers to join its Colts section. We are running league sides at U15, U13, U11 and U9, and squad training begins with indoor sessions in March.
We would welcome all new players, particularly those just starting out with the U9s (Years 2, 3 or 4 at school). Pre-season training begins indoor during March.
We are also running an All Stars Cricket section which is a new initiative from the England and Wales Cricket Board, aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket. See the All Stars
website for further details.
Matches take place on the Common usually every Saturday and Sunday between the middle of April and the end of September. The Pavilion is always open for teas and coffees, while it also has a licensed bar. With the sun shining and the cricket on in the background, the Pavilion is a great place to soak in the summer, enjoy a drink with friends, and, of course, to watch Henfield’s batsman and bowlers dismantle the opposition.
The club are always on the lookout for new players, particularly those starting out from Years 2, 3 and 4 at school. Those interested can contact Ben Helps.
In 2020, outdoor training starts on Friday 24th of April on the Common, at 4.30pm for U11s and below and at 6pm for the U12s to U16s. We are also running six pre-season indoor net sessions at the County Ground from Tuesday 31st of March 7-8pm, at a cost of £6 per child. Places need to be booked in advance.
