The club was formed in 1963 when members were working mainly with black and white prints and 35mm slides. Today, over half a century later, all of our members work with digital equipment, using a variety of different cameras including DSLRs, compacts, bridge cameras and even iPhones.
We currently have thirty-five members ranging from complete beginners to those with many years experience. We aim to encourage and support members, whatever their age, level of ability and experience, helping them to enjoy their photography, alongside other members, in a friendly and social setting. Beginners are always welcome.
Henfield Camera Club is affiliated to the Regnum Crouch Group, The Sussex Photographic Federation and The Surrey Photographic Association. Henfield Camera Club participates in a number of external competitions.
Our season starts from mid-September until the end of May. There is a modest annual subscription of £20 for Full Members (those wishing to enter competitions) and £10 for Social Members. In addition, there is a small attendance fee of £3 per evening. Visitors are always very welcome to attend our meetings at a small charge of £4, Tea and coffee is provided.
Our programme includes invited speakers, demonstrations, competitions, practical work, summer outings and social activities, including an annual dinner.
